From the banks of the Rhône in Seyssel to the Espace Nature de Sur Lyand on the Grand Colombier, the Pays de Seyssel is a marvelous place for all kinds of sports.

In the summer, water activities are available. Whilst some can use the base de loisirs in Seyssel Ain for swimming, others can, for example, go canoeing on the Vieux Rhône.

If you prefer walking with family or friends, you can stroll at your leisure and admire the beautiful landscapes that appear at each bend.

In the winter, the Espace Nature de Sur Lyand welcomes you with cross country skiing, snow shoeing or sledges, ... with a breathaking view over the Alps and the Mont-Blanc.

As of this summer, fifty kilometers of the Rhône are now navigable, because several locks have been constructed by the Compagnie Nationale du Rhône. The lock in Chautagne allows pleasure boats from Seyssel to go to Lake Bourget and back.

In order to provide all necessary information for navigation, the Syndicat du Haut-Rhône, in collaboration with local authorities and the Tourist Offices, has edited a guide "La plaisance sur le Haut-Rhône". A real help in accompanying those who enjoy boating, it gives information about each port or stop along the way, as well as about natural and cultural heritage to be discovered. Also very pratical, the glossary of navigation and estimates of times taken, to be found at the back of this brochure.
